Garcia's Record-Setting Performance Guides Senators to Dominant Win
ELKINS, W.Va. -- Enrique Garcia had a record-breaking evening in leading the Davis & Elkins men's swim team to a big win over the visiting West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats, 164-33 in a dual sprint meet. The D&E women had a big win of their own as they outpaced Wesleyan 182-27. Garcia started his dominant performance with a win in the 50 butterfly with a time of 23.45. He then set new school and pool records in the 100 butterfly with a time of 50.49. The school record bettered his own record set last February. The pool record was set in 2013. Garcia then teamed with Edwin Li, Payton Williamson, and Jakob Knoblach to win the 500 freestyle relay in a time of 4:32.00. He finished out his evening with a pool record in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 56.12; just .76 off his personal best.
