A Kissimmee man and a Dunnellon woman were among four pro-Trumpsters convicted this week for participating in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.
According to the Ocala Star-Banner, William Isaacs of Kissimmee and Connie Meggs of Dunnellon were found guilty on Monday of multiple felony charges, including conspiracy; obstruction of an official proceeding, and aiding and abetting; destruction of government property, and aiding and abetting; entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds.
Meggs’ husband, Kelly, was convicted in November of seditious conspiracy and other felonies. Prosecutors contend he was the leader of the Oath Keepers in Florida.

Connie Meggs, Isaacs, and two other non-Floridians face up to 20 years in prison for convictions on conspiracy and interfering with Congress charges.
Prosecutors claim that the Oath Keepers prepared for weeks for the assault on the Capitol.
The defendants’ lawyers counter that no plot existed.
Rather, they came to Washington that day to listen to former President Donald Trump’s speech or provide security for speakers at events prior to the riot. There was no pre-planned initiative to enter the Capitol.
