CALVERT COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office said a Maryland State Police (MSP) Trooper was hurt after suspects hit him during a pursuit on Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies first responded to the report of a theft in progress just after 4 p.m. at the Harris Teeter on Ward Road in Dunkirk. They found two men fleeing the scene in a white Nissan Altima.

Police said the Nissan was speeding in the area of Harvey Road in Huntington when it tried ramming a detective’s police vehicle before continuing to flee.
