Dr. Sarah Saxon and the staff at Saxon MD Facial Plastic Surgery celebrated joining the Dripping Springs community with a ribbon cutting last week.

The ceremony, cosponsored by the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce, took place on Friday, April 19.

A native of Carthage, Dr. Saxon attended Baylor University, where she expressed a particular interest in transforming her lifelong fascination with surgery into expertise. After graduating from Baylor, she spent over a decade training in facial plastic surgery, which included four years of medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, five years of residency in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at University of New Mexico and additional fellowship training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Boston University under the mentorship of worldrenowned surgeon, Dr. Jeffrey Spiegel.

In addition, she mastered the nuances of reconstruction of congenital ear anomalies (microtia) with the world expert in the procedure, Dr. Satoru Nagata, in Japan. Dr. Saxon then joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where she taught residents and offered the full spectrum of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.

In 2016, she transitioned into private practice by opening Saxon MD Facial Plastic Surgery in downtown Austin. The practice quickly outgrew her small downtown Austin office. Because of this, Dr. Saxon has now moved her south office to a brand-new, larger space in Dripping Springs which will also soon house a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center. No matter how big or small the procedure, she focuses on delivering the very best results for her patients and improving confidence with as little downtime as possible.
