DRIPPING SPRING — The Dripping Springs Tigers boys soccer team hosted the Austin High School Maroons on Friday, March 22, where the Tigers finished their season with a record of 5-9-2 for sixth place after a final score of 1-1. The Tigers were playing to determine if they would make it to Bi-District playoffs. Tiger Dylan Zahn scored the first goal in the first half and the Maroons tied the game with a goal in the second half. A win for the Tigers would have increased their chances for a playoff berth, but the Maroons played tough. During the final minutes of the game, tempers flared on both sides and several yellow cards were called. The Tigers could not score after several attempts in the second half of the game. The seniors were recognized along with their families during the halftime program. The senior players are Colter Maebius (No. 17), Ramsey Zogaib (No. 24), Kyle Baucum (No. 8), Alex Hutchison (No. 18) and Luke Bohan (No. 00). During the post-game talk by head coach Josh Hill, he thanked the seniors for a great career at Dripping Springs High School and reminded them they had a silver medal and were runners-up in the UIL State Championships in 2023 and in 2022. Coach Hill said not many teams could boast of the record these seniors had at Dripping Springs High School.
