Police: Man charged with negligent homicide after falling asleep behind the wheel
WEBSTER SPRINGS, W.Va (WDTV) - A Webster County man has been charged with negligent homicide after he allegedly fell asleep behind the wheel and killed a man. 51-year-old Floyd McCourt, of Webster Springs, was involved in a vehicle crash in the 200 block of S. Richwood Qualifies for State Cheer Championships: Coaches Reflect on Team Journeys and Program Development
Richwood High School's cheerleading team, a first-time qualifier, will be joining established teams Woodrow Wilson, Midland Trail, and Westside at the WVSSAC state cheer championships. Woodrow Wilson has won eight championships since 2013, while Westside has won three consecutive Class AA titles. Midland Trail will make its sixth consecutive appearance at the state championships. Richwood's team of eight members made history with their runner-up finish in the regional championships, securing their first-ever berth at the state championships. The team's success represents the growth and development of the program over the past six years. Other teams, such as Woodrow Wilson, are aiming for a state championship and rely on experienced cheerleaders to lead the way. The state championships will take place at the Cam Henderson Center on the campus of Marshall University.
