The former assistant coach for the New England Patriots carried out his own playbook for the modern farmhouse.

Steve Belichick, a former member of the New England Patriots coaching staff and son of acclaimed ex-head coach Bill Belichick, has listed his Dover home for $4,195,000.

Known for his coaching skills, famous locks, and presence in the meme world, Steve Belichick announced back in February that he would leave the Patriots to become the defensive coordinator for the University of Washington.

His home at 91 Centre St. in Dover is a six-bed, eight-bath (five full, three half) home that measures 8,270 square feet, which includes the substantial lower level. Steve and his wife, Jennifer, wed in 2017 in Nantucket and have four children, according to People magazine.

The property was a spec house when the Belichicks went under contract for the mansion, and they spent two years customizing and expanding it. The changes included a metal roof, designer lighting, hardwood floors, specialty tiles and backsplashes, primary and bedroom closets, cabinetry, the kitchen, butler’s pantry, mudroom, pantry, bar area in the family room, bathrooms, AV security system, high-end appliances, and a generator.

“The custom detail to this house is just stunning,” said Paige Yates of the Yates Team at Coldwell Banker Realty, who has the listing.

On the first floor, a grand foyer welcomes guests. To the right is a 199-square-foot office, while a 181-square-foot dining room is on the left. Continue into the 654-square-foot living area, which connects to a bright sunroom. The living room also leads into a stunning eat-in kitchen with a long island and bar area. Every amenity was considered, ranging from Sub-Zero refrigerators and freezers to a beverage refrigerator, ice maker, and two dishwashers. A butler’s pantry and bar area are ideal for party prep, while a cozy breakfast area is perfect for busy mornings. A mudroom provides easy access to the three-car garage, and sliding doors open out to the back deck.

It features a custom child-size replica of Nantucket’s Siasconset Market.

“It was a great use of under the stairs because it’s a little area kids can walk straight into.”
