HEAVY AS IT WAS EARLIER. IT JUST DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU ARE, DEFINITELY. NOW IS WIDESPREAD. BUT I WANT TO LOOK AT THE ENTIRE REGION JUST TO SHOW YOU ONCE AGAIN, IT LOOKS LIKE THE HAVES OUT KANSAS WAY HAVE NOTS ON THE MISSOURI SIDE. AGAIN, THIS IS A RADAR ESTIMATE STILL FROM ONE BLOCK TO THE NEXT, YOU COULD PROBABLY GET MORE THAN THAT. BUT IT LOOKED LIKE, GENERALLY SPEAKING, FARTHER TO THE SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST, THAT’S REALLY START TO PILE UP, IF YOU WILL, ALMOST JUST SHY OF SIX INCHES OF RAIN TOWARD OTTAWA. BUT THEN YOU COMPARE THAT TO LIBERTY AND UP TOWARD CAMERON, ONLY 3/100 OF AN INCH. SO 36 HIGHWAY AND NORTH REALLY

Portions of Franklin, Douglas counties receive over 5 inches of rain
Depending on which side of the state line you live on, you either saw a lot of rain or just a small total in the final hours of May 2023. In the past 24 hours, parts of Franklin County and Douglas County saw over five inches of rain. Radar estimates show that Lawrence, Kan., reported 4.3 inches of rain, while Ottawa, Kan., reported 5.1 inches. Estimates also show that over three inches of rain fell in Leavenworth, while some communities in Johnson County had over two inches. If you live on the Missouri side, it's a different story. Outside of Liberty, Mo., most cities on the Missouri side of KMBC's viewing area reported under an inch of rain.
