Connect Douglas launches free transportation service for seniors
Douglas County has launched a free transportation service exclusively for seniors aged 65 and above. The pilot Dial-a-Ride ‘Transportainment’ program, as it’s dubbed, launched last week through Connect Douglas, the county’s public transportation service. The program is funded through a federal American Rescue Protection Act (ARPA) grant issued to Douglas County by the Atlanta Regional Commission. It is scheduled to run through June 2024 or until funding is exhausted.

Johnson wins statewide award
