DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — The rebuilding process for Zack’s Family Restaurant is expected to start in the near future.
According to owner Zack Whaley, engineers are in the final stages of the drawing process for the future building. The drafts feature a drive-thru to cut down on heavy crowds inside the new building.
Dianne Whaley, Zack Whaley’s wife, said an architect will review the engineer’s drawings and will then send out a bid to construction companies.
The building process is expected to take 9 months to one year and the new location is expected to open in early 2024.
The beloved restaurant closed after a devastating kitchen fire in July 2022.
Whaley says he appreciates the communities support and patience, and they are looking forward to serving quality food once again.
