Detours expected for some Rochester Public Transit routes
(ABC 6 News) – Riders will be experiencing changes for some Rochester Public Transit Routes starting Monday, May 13th. Routes 306 and 309 will both be following a long term detour over the summer. This will be to avoid a road closure on 4 Ave SW, between 14 St and 16 St SW.
Another phone call, another person tricked out of hundreds of dollars
ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Rochester Police Department (RPD) says criminals continue trying to trick people out of their money with phony legal threats. RPD says a 46-year-old Byron woman was recently swindled out of $1,200. The woman says she got a phone call from someone claiming to be a captain with the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office. The woman says she was told she missed a court date and was in contempt of court. The caller said the woman had to pay $9,000 to avoid arrest, but that amount was eventually lowered to $1,200.
