Girl’s Varsity Continue Winning Streak
The Lady Cougars continued their winning streak taking down Washington High School 39-15. Once again relying on their defensive prowess, the Cougars led on the boards with close to fifty rebounds as well as bringing in an impressive 15 steals over the course of the game. It’s that time of year again: Fairfax County Public School high-school swim-and-dive teams are headed back to Fairfax County Park Authority RECenters this winter. “This marks a long-standing partnership between the county’s high schools and rec centers,” Fairfax County Park Authority officials said. “The rec centers owe their very existence to this partnership. As swimming became an increasingly popular sport, Fairfax County Public Schools began to look for pool facilities. The county proposed building rec centers with pools on Park Authority land as a more accessible and efficient option.”
