Nearly a dozen people came together this past Saturday for "A Day of Love For Titus Bethea” at the park across from Bartell Funeral Home on East Calhoun Street in Dillon.

The event was sponsored by the staff at Bartell Funeral Home, Modern Woodmen of America Chapter 6761, as well as family and friends of Bethea.

His friends said Bethea recently had a kidney transplant and they wanted to help him in some way.

The special day celebrated the end of a fundraising campaign that resulted in $2,500 to help Bethea with medical expenses.
