West Blue Church celebrates 150th anniversary at Memorial Day service
The West Blue United Church of Christ celebrated its 150th anniversary May 26 at its annual Memorial Day service, followed by a fellowship meal. Located between Crete and Milford, the church has been a landmark in Seward and Saline counties since its founding. Ninety-eight area community members attended the service.
Cortland man cited for shooting and killing dog on his property, sheriff’s office says
CORTLAND, Neb. (KOLN) - A Cortland man was cited for shooting and killing a neighbor’s dog on his property, according to the Gage County Sheriff’s Office. Through the investigation, it was revealed that 57-year-old Roy Schroeder shot and killed a neighbor’s dog that was running through his garage and yard. The dog passed away on Schroeder’s back patio where they were having a gathering, according to Sheriff Millard Gustafson.
