The broadcast of Thursday night’s game between the Toronto Blue Jays and Detroit Tigers experienced significant issues due to a power outage.

Viewers of both Bally Sports Detroit and SportsNet One were limited in what they saw and heard for a long portion of the game.

Toronto’s play-by-play announcer, Dan Shulman took to X (formerly Twitter) to explain the issue.

“Gang, the entire truck compound here at Comerica has lost power,” Shulman said. “Our show and Tigers show both down. They’re working on it.”

Bally Sports Detroit later sent out a similar update.

The issue limited what viewers could see. The main camera, focusing on the pitcher and hitter, was fine but was also the only camera available. So, any plays made outside of that window were not visible. The audio also had issues, with the sound either being down or completely off and not synched up to the video.

The matter was resolved in the bottom of the sixth inning, with both broadcasts returning to their normal setup.
