WAYNE COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — Police are searching for a wanted suspect, who is believed to be armed and dangerous, after authorities discovered more than $200,000 worth of drugs in an apartment in Wayne County Saturday evening.

According to a release from the Kenova Police Department, police are looking for Damani Khari Harris, 23, of Detroit, who is wanted on outstanding warrants from Michigan and West Virginia.

Ceredo Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle later discovered to be driven by Harris around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night near High Street. The vehicle fled the scene and was later found in Huntington’s west end with narcotics and stolen firearms inside after its driver fled on foot.

Police visited the residence of the vehicle’s owner at the Jamestown Apartments Complex in Kenova, which revealed Harris as the vehicle’s driver. A search of the residence revealed large quantities of cash and various drugs with a street value of more than $200,000.

“In addition to the existing charges, Damani Harris is charged with five additional counts of possession with intent to deliver narcotics in Wayne County,” the release said.

Anyone with information on Harris’ whereabouts should contact law enforcement. Anonymous information can be provided by calling 304-453-5555 or any 911 center.
