Hey Detroit! We hope you’ve had fun this week eclipse-viewing in the beautiful weather. Soon we’ll be able to dine al fresco at our favorite restaurants, picnic in the parks and maybe even (gasp!) go outside without bringing a sweater. Sunshine, keep on keeping on, please!

We’ve put together a fun assortment of events from grooving out (on the dance floor) and stretching out (on your yoga mat)! Not sure where to start? You’ve come to the right place.

Let’s get busy! 💗

Thursday

📽️ Take a weekend cinematic journey at Freep Film Festival , the annual documentary fest curated by the Detroit Free Press. The festival boasts everything from free events like the short films featuring Kresge Artist Fellows at the Detroit Institute of Arts to posh cinematic dining experiences at Frame Bar in Hazel Park and virtual screenings brought directly to your living room. See the full schedule . $0-$80.

🌃 Learn your worth at this sit-down with “money mentor” Natalia Benson at Experience Zuzu downtown. Come for discussions on how to build a business, “money manifestation” and knowing your worth — figuratively and literally. Stay for the food, drinks and women-supporting-women vibes. #Entrepreneur, much? $150.

This weekend

🍷 Delight your palate on Saturday at Motor City Wine in Corktown at its April wine tasting event . Sample over a dozen wines and an assortment of cheese, charcuterie and other tasty snacks. Rosé anyone? 21+ (duh). $20.

🪩 Dance ’til you drop Saturday night with DJ Stacey Pullen at TV Lounge near downtown. It’s one of many official pre-parties leading up to Movement Music Festival. Take it from me: Shaking your groove thing on their outdoor patio is a delightful way to soak up this nice weather. 21+. $20-$25.

💃 Jam out to music from the Black and Latin diaspora at a 90s House Party in Southwest Detroit on Saturday. Grab as many tacos from Mama’s Kitchen as you’d like, then enjoy  music from DJ ankaonmars and promoter Fiesta Vibes , a twerk/whine contest and an open-mic rap battle. Got some sick bars? Can’t wait to hear them! $10.

Next week

👒 Delight in a Derby Hat-Shopping Party on Tuesday in The Peacock Room inside the Fisher Building. This locally owned gem has a wide assortment of derby hats, feathery fascinators and clothing in women’s Sizes 0-22. Bonus: You’ll get a 10% discount on hats and fascinators and receive styling services. Free.
