Shooting on Detroit's east side leaves 1 dead

Detroit police are continuing to investigate a deadly shooting that erupted on the city's east side Monday evening.

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are continuing to investigate a deadly shooting that erupted on the city's east side Monday evening.

Detroit police told WWJ that a homicide investigation is underway after a man was shot to death just before 8 p.m. on June 5th. The fatal shooting occurred in the 1600 block of Clay Street, just east of I-75.

Initial reports stated there were two victims. While one remained at the scene, the second was reportedly found at a local hospital, but those reports remain unconfirmed by authorities.

Police have not released any additional information about the victim or the case. It is unknown if detectives have identified a suspect or suspects involved.
