(Des Moines, IA) -- There are new details about a Des Moines homicide. Police say 23-year-old Ezekial Williams died after being shot May 20th.
Officers were called to 2225 University Avenue just after 6 p.m. on May 20th. They arrived and found Williams critically injured after being shot in the head. Williams was transported to Mercy Medical Center, where he died May 27th.
Police say after speaking with witnesses and looking at evidence, it appears Williams assaulted the 22-year-old woman he lived with, as well as one of their three young children. The woman then got a gun that had been stored in the residence and shot Williams. Investigates say Williams and the woman had been in a long-term relationship.
No charges have been filed.
It's the city's 11th homicide this year.
