Expect a heavy police presence at a Denville high school Friday morning after two students were arrested for bringing a gun to school, according to Morris County prosecutors.
On Thursday, Denville police say school staff at Morris Knolls High School discovered two students in possession of a gun. School staff secured the students and the gun before police arrived, according to authorities. Police say there was never an active threat to the school and the incident remains under investigation. The two students were arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.
Authorities say no further information will be released since this matter involves juveniles.
Denville police say the safety and security of all Denville’s schools are of paramount importance. There will be an increased police presence at the school over the next few days, police say, to help alleviate any fears or concerns.
