Denver weather: Some sun and below average temps; isolated showers possible

DENVER (KDVR) — Saturday brought everything from rain to snow in the metro area, so much so that it was Denver’s wettest April Day since April 24, 2007.

Denver’s weather will stay mostly to partly cloudy today along with some isolated rain showers in the afternoon. While Denver starts Sunday under overcast skies, look for some peeks of sunshine by the late morning or early afternoon along with an isolated shower or two after 3 pm.

Weather today: Partly cloudy and a chance of showers

Temperatures this afternoon top out in the upper 50s and lower 60s under partly cloudy skies. There could be a few rounds of isolated showers and a rumble or two on Sunday afternoon, although most of the area will likely stay dry.

Meanwhile, the high country could pick up another couple of inches of snowfall through the day Sunday.

Weather tonight: Isolated showers wrap up, skies clear

There is a chance of isolated rain showers through dinnertime along with a rumble or two. Skies start clearing late Sunday and will continue to clear through early Monday as temperatures sink into the upper 30s and lower 40s. Winds could come out of the northwest anywhere from 5-10 mph.

Looking ahead: Sunny, warmer start to the workweek

Sunshine and warm air start Monday and continue into Tuesday. High temperatures stay in the upper 60s and lower 70s under mostly sunny skies.

Afternoon showers and storms are possible on Wednesday with highs staying above average. That same system cools temperatures down into the upper 50s on Thursday with more rain on the way before drying out and warming up on Friday and Saturday.
