Zero-waste grocer opens new store in Highlands

A Boulder-based grocer focused on sustainable shopping opened its second location in Denver.

Nude Foods Market — where shoppers buy products in glass jars or large bulk containers to later return to the store — announced it expanded to the Highlands on 3538 W. 44th St.

“The dynamic economy, eco-conscious residents and proximity to local agricultural regions and sustainable food makers make Denver the perfect setting for our second location,” Co-Founder Matt Arnold said.

The store sells organic produce, pantry staples, meats and dairy sourced from regenerative farms — an agricultural model using fewer chemicals and focused on restoring soil health. Nude Foods Market’s reusable glass jars aim to reduce packaging waste from food.

The company began as a delivery service in Boulder and opened a physical location in 2021 at 3233 Walnut Street to meet increasing demand.

The grocer is hosting a launch party at its new Denver location on Saturday, April 27, and the first 100 guests will be entered to win $500 worth of groceries.

The store is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Colorado hires Uber exec for information technology office

The Colorado Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) announced Monday it appointed a new chief operations officer.

The new hire is Sridevi Ramaswamy, a former executive who ran UberEats’ community operations for the Asia-Pacific region and then was the global head of Greenlight Experience. She later ran the global service experience division at Uber.

“Sri’s rich and diverse experience makes her the right choice at the right time to lead our teams into a new era,” said OIT executive director David Edinger in a statement. “I am thrilled she has chosen to bring her talents to the public sector.”

Ramaswamy will be responsible for developing the organization’s strategies.

The OIT is a division of the governor’s office that runs communication operations for the state and implements technology for government services across the state’s agencies.

“I am excited to be part of the team that helps tech-enabled government services reach every Coloradan and look forward to collaborating with state agencies to ensure we deliver maximum value to them,” Ramaswamy said in a news release.
