Meet the team behind The Star

As the DeForest Times-Tribune and Sun Prairie Star merge to create one larger newspaper, The Star, a meet-and-greet is planned to allow readers to meet the staff.

The event is from 4 - 6 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at the DeForest Area Public Library, 203 Library St., DeForest

Readers can see copies of the new publication and meet the editor and staff reporters, who are excited to bring you this new paper and are committed to continuing the local coverage you expect.

Community members can stop in and talk to Editor Roberta Baumann and reporters Hayley Hodsdon, Eric Wharton and Ethan Ferrell, who cover local schools, the arts and local government, respectively. We will answer your questions and listen to your suggestions in an informal gathering on April 18.

We want readers to put a face to those who write our stories and tell us what you want from your local newspaper.

As the Dane County area continues to grow, the presence of a local newspaper helps to retain unique community identity and offers us a chance to keep telling your individual stories. We will continue to tell your stories in The Star, and to be connected with our readers, who play a huge role in the paper’s past and future.
