The Wall That Heals coming to Butte in August
BUTTE, Mont. — The Mining City is preparing to host a massive replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The Wall That Heals is only making one stop in the northwest this year, as the replica will be on display at Father Sheehan Park from Aug. 28 to Sept. 1.

Historic Butte Socialist Hall now features luxury apartments, retail space
BUTTE, Mont. — One of the Mining City’s most historic buildings has opened its doors once again. Built in 1916, the Socialist Hall on Harrison Avenue had been in disarray since the closure of Fran Johnson’s in 2011, but after a new owner put more than $2 million into the building, it now boasts eight luxury apartments, two retail spaces, and a new name – The Fran.
Carson & Barnes Circus receives citation for escaped elephant in Butte
BUTTE, Mont. - The circus responsible for an elephant escaping and running through Butte last month was cited by the United States Department of Agriculture in May. Viola, the 54-year-old Asian elephant was getting a bath before her performance in the Carson & Barnes Circus when she was startled by a truck and escaped her two handlers.
