One woman dead after a head on collision in Decatur
DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A 66-year-old woman is dead after a two-car crash on West Mound Rd. in Decatur Friday evening. According to the Decatur Police Department, a sedan was traveling eastbound in the 1000 block of W. Mound while an SUV was traveling westbound on the same block. The sedan crossed the center line and struck the SUV head on.

Decatur police investigate attempted murder, shooter still at large
DECATUR, Ill. (WICS) — The Decatur Police Department is investigating an attempted murder. At 12:33 p.m. on Thursday police responded to N. Edward Street Decatur, where police found a 20-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to the hospital. We're told the victim is still alive.

(SPRINGFIELD) After a seven year court case, the State of Illinois will settle a lawsuit in which a police vehicle crashed into a 26 year old Decatur woman’s car and killed her as a result. The young daughters of Kelly Wilson will split nearly $2.6 million after their lawyers originally asked for $10 million. In 2016, Illinois State Trooper Jeffrey Denning was speeding to a possible crime scene in Macon County when he slammed into Wilson’s car. Five years later after retiring, Trooper Denning pleaded guilty to reckless conduct and was sentenced to two years probation. Denning did not have his sirens or lights activated before the crash.
