Decatur police identify man killed in 10th Avenue shooting, no arrests made

DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — Officers with the Decatur Police Department (DPD) are investigating a shooting where a 23-year-old man was killed on Wednesday.

DPD says officers responded to a reported shooting in the 900 block of 10th Avenue around 2:16 p.m. Officers located one victim, a man later identified as 23-year-old Jared Bolden, suffering from gunshot wounds at the scene.

Detectives with the DPD’s Criminal Investigation Unit responded to conduct an investigation.

At 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, DPD said the scene was cleared and 10th Avenue was reopened.

Police say two individuals came forward to provide information about a vehicle involved in the incident. That vehicle was located later at Summer Key Apartments off Cedar Lake Road.
