    Prince William County police investigating shooting, 1 in custody

    PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said a person was shot on Saturday afternoon.

    In a post on X just after 4 p.m., the department said officers were dispatched to the 14100 block of Richmond Highway to investigate a shooting.

    Officers said one person was injured. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

    In an update at 4:53 p.m., the PWCPD said one person is in custody.

    Police said residents should expect a heavy police presence in the area as the investigation continues.
