Salem man found guilty of 2022 house party murder in Cornelius
A Salem man who shot and killed another man at a party in Cornelius in 2022 was found guilty Tuesday and sentenced to life in prison, Washington County prosecutors said. Cesar Y. Alvarez-Alcazar, now 20, was drunk at a house party on Feb. 6, 2022, when he got into an argument with Jose A. Rodriguez-Sanchez. Rodriguez-Sanchez suggested the two “run it outside,” according to court records, but Alvarez-Alcazar pulled out a gun and shot Rodriguez-Sanchez twice in the stomach. The victim shot back as Alvarez-Alcazar fled.
