A secret carried for decades yields a story of love and family
Sixty years in the making, siblings Sandy Buckingham, Carol Roach, and Dan Hjelm find out they have a sister living in Dassel and set out on a nine-month journey to find her. Sandy Buckingham remembers growing up with a quiet, loving mother and a charismatic, fun-loving dad. She and her sister, Carol, and her brother, Dan, moved around a bit, spent part of their childhood around Saint Paul, and settled in Cambridge-Isanti. She remembers her father, Paul, as being fun and full of life, always busy with his auto business, hotel businesses, and being part of law enforcement. They were really opposite, but stayed married for many years.”
