DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — The Danville Otterbots baseball team is getting ready for their pre-season with an ‘Otterpalooza’ fun-filled weekend for all!

On Friday, April 28th, fans are invited to participate in an Olympic-style competition at the park from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This event may get a little rowdy as it is exclusively for fans 21 years of age and older. Competitors can sign up as an individual or as a four-person team for $25 per person. Registration includes participation in all of the sporting events and an all-you-can-eat hot dog and hamburger buffet. Tickets can be purchased online through their website.

The weekend doesn’t stop there. Starting at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 29th, the park will host a community yard sale. From bobbleheads to stadium signage to knick-knacks and more, fans can find one-of-a-kind memorabilia at cheap prices. The yard sale will last until the last item is sold. Cash and card payments will be accepted on-site.

Following the yard sale, attendees can stick around for live music in the park. Attendees can take swings during batting practice, play a game of catch in the outfield, have their picture taken in the dugout, and hang out with Scooter, everyone’s favorite otter!

There will be two live music performances along the concourse: Slaughter Ave and Brooke McBride.

Fans that are new to the area, die-hard Otterbotters, and everyone in between are invited to attend. The season will officially begin on June 6th.
