MAHOPAC, N.Y. - MHS student athlete DJ DeMatteo has been named a recipient of the 51st annual Golden Dozen awards by the Westchester Chapter of the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame. It’s a collection of high school football standouts from the 2023 season who excelled both on the field and in the classroom. BHS Standout Wes Brown Jr. Named States's Top Class AAA-A Offensive Lineman by Coalfields & Co.
Bridgeport junior standout Wes Brown Jr. has been selected by Coalfields & Co. as the top from Class AAA, AA and A for the 2024 season. Brown was a Class AAAA First-Team All-State selection in 2023 as one of the primary blockers for the most prolific offense in school history as BHS set school records for rushing yards with 5,420 and rushing touchdowns with 82.
Wilton YMCA Gymnasts Perform Under the Big Top at 2024 CT State Championship
The Wilton branch of the Riverbrook Regional YMCA hosted the Connecticut State Championship on March 23-24 — the second of four championship meets this season. Six teams from across the state competed against the Wilton YMCA gymnasts for recognition — Darien, Glastonbury, Lakewood Trumbull, Meriden, Rye and Westport/Weston.

Chloe Matt got the start for the Tigers, going 4 innings and logging a pair of strikeouts before Cora Kennedy came on in relief. Kennedy pitched three solid innings, striking out five batters. Sophia Aqeel and Becky Senatore both knocked in a run, and Ana Brewster and Riannon Perlongo each had a pair of hits to help power North Salem to victory.
