Route 58 near Damascus traffic pattern change
Route 58 approaching Damascus in Washington County, VA, has a change in traffic pattern in effect until Friday, December 8th. The switch is near the intersection of Route 58 and Hollyfield Road. The switch is necessary to complete the final phases of construction near the intersection. Officials say to pay close attention to signs, message boards and flaggers in the area. Once finished, traffic will begin using the new Route 58 westbound lanes.

The following information was provided by the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Nov. 20 Rodney B. Burns, 44, of Crumpler, was charged with resisting a public officer, impeding traffic by sit/stand/lie and parole violation.
