The election of a new Wasco Chief has been decided, with Jefferson Greene winning the position. Greene was selected with 204 votes. Wissie Smith had 117, Alvis Smith III had 93, John Katchia Sr. received 64, followed by Garland Brunoe with 48 and Dan Martinez with 29.

Wasco gears up for Memorial Day celebration
Community members are hard at work preparing for the annual Wasco Memorial Day celebration, a long-running tradition for the town. The festivities kick off Monday, May 27, with a Country Breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Wasco School Events Center. Sherman senior three-time state champ in discus
Sherman County School senior Sophie Hulke ended her high school track career on a high note last weekend, earning her third consecutive 1A state championship in discus. She also scored a personal best in shot put, taking 1st place and setting a new school record at the state track meet at University of Oregon's Hayward Field in Eugene.
