The Dallas Mavericks look like a dark horse to come out of the Western Conference after they beat the Los Angeles Clippers in six games to advance to the semifinals of the 2024 NBA playoffs.
The Mavericks took advantage of a Clippers team that was without Kawhi Leonard in Game 6 and won so convincingly that they should be considered a contender.
Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving were amazing in the closeout game and now will be put to the test in the next round when they face off against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
It’s a great time to be a Mavericks fan considering how the team has looked and they should also be a handful for a Thunder team that’s young and hungry.
Although Dallas doesn’t play tonight, fans should still be tuning in as Dirk Nowitzki is set to substitute for Shaquille O’Neal on TNT’s “Inside the NBA,” via Brad Townsend of Dallas Morning News.
“Major announcement: Tonight on TNT’s Inside the NBA, before, during and after the Nuggets-Wolves broadcast, Shaq will have an extra-special substitute in-studio. He is none other than Dirk Nowitzki. And we all know he will be tremendous,” Townsend reported.

Nowitzki is beloved by just about everyone in league circles because of his personality and demeanor and should thrive in an analyst role on the “Inside the NBA” set.
Nowitzki will surely have some opinions about the current playoff picture, especially because his Mavericks are in the race and primed to make some noise in the coming weeks.
