Police have now released the name of the man arrested for taking a DART paratransit van on a joy ride Sunday evening.
DART officials say a man identified as Charles Tisaby hotwired the van and stole it from DART's paratransit barn in east Dallas.
Witnesses took video showing a 30-minute joyride along Central Expressway and I-30 and around the Bryan Place neighborhood.
The van crashed into about a half-dozen parked cars and then struck a bicyclist who somehow avoided injury.
Tisaby is jailed in Dallas on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
