Dallas ISD officials approved pre-K tuition rates for the 2023-24 calendar year during a March 23 board of trustees meeting.

The full-day rate for those enrolled in the district’s tuition-based pre-K program is $5,000 per year per child, according to meeting documents. The half-day tuition rate is $2,500. For before- and after-care programs for 3- and 4-year-old children, the tuition rate is $1,250.

The new rates do not affect scholarship opportunities and only apply to those who are not eligible to attend DISD’s free pre-K program.

Like all Texas school districts, DISD is limited by the maximum rate for full-day tuition set by the Texas Education Agency. The current tuition limit is $8,031 annually, and $892 per month.

The DISD 2023-24 tuition rates are the same as the 2022-23 calendar year rates. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, pre-K tuition rates were reduced to $4,100 for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 calendar years. Prior to 2020, the tuition rate was $5,250 per child per year, according to meeting documents.
