DALLAS TWP., LUZENRE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It’s the show that families in the community look forward to, the Irem Shrine Circus.

The fun brings everyone together to raise money for children in need.

“It’s a whole complete 90-minute show. There will be hula-hoop artists, aerial stars, and the costume quick-change people. Also, an illusion act which is very fascinating,” says host Billy Martin.

It’s the 73rd year of the annual event but, due to renovations at the Kingston Armory, is being held at a different venue in Dallas.

A smaller venue, but the same big-time entertainment.

“It is very nice to have a more intimate setting. Having people very close by, the kids were within arms reach, you can hear all the people louder, a lot closer, and you can see everyone’s reaction which is a lot of fun,” says acrobat Ivan Arestov.

Acts from previous years will still go on as planned, such as Scranton native The Amazing Franko!

“It’s heartwarming. A lot of people who are friends, family, some high school friends are coming, some of my old teachers are coming up to see the show this weekend.”

Putting in lots of hard work for the shows, but keeping traditional pricing to accommodate families.

The money raised goes back into the community for the Shriners’ mission of serving children in need.

Irem Shrine Potentate Jim Gallagher says, “The fact that we’re able to raise some money to support Irem’s activities and the uniformed units, makes it even better so that we can continue to serve kids who need medical care.”

The Irem Shrine’s circus in Dallas runs through Sunday.

Tickets are cash only with adults at $10 and for those 14 and under at $5.
