Over 120 classic and modern cars registered in the 14th Annual Dallas County Sheriff’s Office Special Olympics All-Wheels Show on Saturday.

A variety of cars were parked and were looked at by the public while being judged to win one of the six trophies presented in downtown Adel. Sergeant Ray Dirksen said the weather was gorgeous for a car show and thanked everyone for coming out and supporting the event. Dirksen tells Raccoon Valley Radio that all the proceeds will fund the Special Olympics Iowa non-profit organization.

“They are always so happy to get that funds to help out the athletes because it helps the athletes to get to where they’re going. It helps them to compete, helps run the organization to allow these people to show their ability that they have. Can’t ask for anything better. We usually have the same cards over and over because these guys that come to this car show are so passionate about giving the money to the Special Olympics, and it makes me so proud to be such a part of the organization.”

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office All-Wheels Show takes place the first Saturday of June every year.
