The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday.

The Board awarded several bids for the new administration building project. They approved the bid for the structural concrete to Jensen Buildings for the cost of $1,006,573, CNC Foundation was awarded the bid for the aggregate piers for $70,400 and they tabled the site utilities bids for further review of the numbers. The Board also approved the bid pre-qualifications as presented for roofing, building automated systems, site concrete and masonry. They approved Team Services to provide third party testing and inspection services for the construction phase for the administration building project for the cost of $49,600.

Additionally, the Board approved the application of Osmundson Manufacturing to the Iowa Economic Development Authority High-Quality Jobs Program, using the American Rescue Plan Act funds to purchase cardiac monitors for $205,000 to the Dallas County Emergency Medical Services Department, they also approved seven drainage assessments and a resolution abatement of $2,415 in mobile taxes.

Human Resources Director Beth Deardoff discussed the updated language in the county employee handbook and the Board approved the pay plan policy additions to cap the cost of living adjustment at six-percent and to add a two-percent increase for employees exceeding expectations on the job. 

The Board approved a second budget amendment to the current fiscal year that would give  secondary roads department $2 million for culverts, fuel and other construction needs and they approved two easements in Waukee for temporary construction.
