18-Year-Old Coffee County Resident Arrested Following GBI Investigation

On Thursday, September 5, 2024, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s (GBI) Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes (CEACC) Unit arrested 18-year-old Dillon Minchew from Coffee County, GA, charging him with one count of Sexual Exploitation of Children.

The investigation into Minchew's online activities was initiated after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) provided a Cyber Tipline Report indicating potential possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material. A search warrant was executed at Minchew's residence, leading to his arrest. The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office and the GBI’s Douglas regional office assisted in carrying out the search warrant.

Minchew was subsequently booked into the Coffee County Jail.

This investigation is part of the ongoing efforts by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, based within the GBI's CEACC Unit, to combat the trade of child sexual abuse material. The ICAC Program, established by the U.S. Department of Justice, was created to address the rising number of children and teens using the internet, the proliferation of child sexual abuse material, and the increased online activity of predators seeking unsupervised contact with minors.
