A local Walmart employee was recently arrested on a misdemeanor charge after allegedly stealing over $60 worth of merchandise from the store. Additionally, she faced a felony charge after officers discovered suspected methamphetamine in her locker during the arrest.

According to a Douglas Police Department incident report, officers responded to the Douglas Walmart on July 26 around 5:00 p.m. regarding a theft. Upon arrival, they spoke with the Asset Protection (AP) associate, who revealed that the suspect, 47-year-old Dena Vickers of Douglas, had been caught "skip scanning" on three separate occasions.

The report details that Vickers stole $39.14 worth of merchandise on July 3, followed by $19.96 worth of items on July 4, and another $6.99 worth of items on July 5, totaling $66 in stolen goods, according to the AP associate.

The officer informed Vickers of her arrest and she consented to a search of her bag in locker number 40. During the search, a small round container with a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine and a glass pipe were found.

As a result, Vickers was charged with one count of possession of methamphetamine and one count of theft by shoplifting (misdemeanor). She has been released from custody on a property bond.
