Pair indicted on charges of torching home of grandma’s landlord
CLEVELAND – A Cuyahoga County grand jury Monday indicted two men in connection with the fire that targeted a family on the city’s West Side earlier this month. Tyric Green, 21, and D’Andre Morris, 22, are accused of setting the blaze that forced Cecilia Li and her family to jump from a second-floor window April 20. Li was the landlord of Green’s grandmother.
Cuyahoga County committee to examine how justice system is working for kids here
Cuyahoga County Council recently appointed some big players to an advisory committee that is supposed to help bring more accountability to the juvenile justice system. The committee members have a monumental task: Provide a full review of the juvenile court’s existing programs and look at how often kids who have court cases recidivate – or commit new crimes after their initial court case. From there, the group will examine best practices from elsewhere in the country and make recommendations on what it could take to make reforms here. Their report is due by Dec. 31.
