Cut Bank man sentenced to more than five years in prison for assaulting, shooting woman on Blackfeet Indian Reservation
CUT BANK, Mont. — A Cut Bank man was sentenced today to five years and nine months in prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release, for assaulting and then shooting and wounding a woman at a residence on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich said.
Classes resume at Shelby Junior High/High School following roof damage
UPDATE: May 10 at 9:20 a.m. Classes are returning to normal at Shelby Junior High/High School Friday after a section of the roof tore off the building due to strong winds. Shelby Public School District said in a release professional roofers began waterproofing the damaged portion Thursday and began examining why the waterproofing system failed.

CUT BANK, Mont. — A Cut Bank man was sentenced to five years and nine months in prison followed by three years supervised release for assaulting and shooting a woman. In November 2023, Luke Charles Wells pleaded guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon and to using a firearm during a crime of violence.
