Alice Jane Black Hodges, lovingly known as Janie, age 69, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 25, 2023.
Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. David Mackens officiating. Burial will follow at Black Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. on Tuesday and again on Wednesday from 12 noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Janie entered this life on September 16, 1953 in Clarksville, TN to the late Jake and Verble Wells Black. She was a graduate of Montgomery Central High School and had formerly worked for Acme Boot, Bellsouth, and Dan Post. She enjoyed Wheel of Fortune, working crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by the father of her children, Donnie Hodges; brother-in-law, Lynn Birdwell; mother and father-in-law, Jewel and Bessie Hodges.
Survivors include her children, Amy Beth Hodges Zimmerman (Charles), Mike Hodges, and Chance Hodges (Sarah Glenn); sister, Gayle Birdwell; sister-in-law, Barbara (Bennie) Bearden; grandchildren, Ashley Hodges Perry (Patrick), Cody Hodges, Cole Zimmerman, Graycie Zimmerman, Elizabeth Brown, Jacob Brown, Mary Kate Hodges, and Nora Lee Hodges; great-grandchildren, McKinley, Briar, and Hayes.
Pallbearers will be Cody Hodges, Cole Zimmerman, Jacob Brown, Keith Bearden, Danny Wells, and Mark Joyce.
