Tractor trailer rear-ends SUV near scene of grass fire in central Pa.

Nobody was injured when a tractor trailer truck collided with an SUV on I-81 near the scene of a brush fire Friday night in Cumberland County.

The tractor trailer struck the back of the SUV when fire crews began shutting down the southbound lane of I-81, near mile marker 52, to respond to a grass fire in Middlesex Township at around 10:40 p.m., according to the New Kingstown Fire Company.

The trailer then veered off into the grass median with damage to its front-left axle, and leaving considerable debris behind, the New Kingstown Fire Company said.

511PA shows that the road is now clear. Pennsylvania State Police’s Carlisle Barracks are investigating the crash.
