Third Arrest in Cuba Hood Park Homicide

(Cuba) A third person was arrested Tuesday in connection to a Crawford County murder.

A joint news release from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Cuba Police Department says the arrest is in relation to the February 1st, 2023 murder of 34-year-old Mister Z. Halferty of Union.

Back on that evening, Cuba police received a report of shots fired at Hood Park.

Officers and troopers responded.

When they arrived, they found Halferty deceased inside his vehicle.

An examination of the body revealed Halferty died from gunshots.

That’s when a homicide investigation began.

Arrested on Tuesday was 22-year-old Daeshawn Brandon of St. Louis.

He’s the last of three arrested for the shooting death of Halferty.

The other two arrested earlier are 24-year-old Malik Brandon of Sullivan and 22-year-old Maurice Williams of Branson.

All three are being held in the Crawford County Jail in Steelville and have been charged with first degree murder, first degree robbery, armed criminal action and first degree assault.
