The Put Your Town On The Map grants have been awarded to Imlay City with a $25,000 grant for their public interactive art and audio display. Rogers City secures second place with $15,000 for a captivating public art sculpture. St. Johns claims third place with $10,000 for community artistic benches. These projects aim to enhance community spirit while showcasing the creativity and innovation of Michigan's small towns. Events planned to connect residents with nature
St. Clair County offers its residents and visitors a plethora of walking and biking trails. The weather is getting warming, trees are turning green and the flowers have been blooming. It's easy to bask in the nature of St. Clair County by walking along its many pathways. Friends of the St. Clair River Executive Director Sheri Faust said getting into nature can offer people a stress-free environment to unwind and connect with the local scenery.
Lane closure at Whipple, Elk streets starting May 6
The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced an upcoming lane closure for the I-94 Business Loop at the intersection of Whipple and Elk streets. The lane closure will be implemented on May 6. The purpose of this closure is to allow repair work on the Lake State Railroad Crossing. The work includes replacing the railroad crossing surface and improving the sidewalk to be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Multiple fire departments respond to structure fire on Lapeer Road
Multiple fire departments have responded to a structure fire in the area of Wadhams and Lapeer roads in Kimball Township. Kimball Fire Chief Ed Gratz said the fire was reported at the SERVPRO building on Lapeer Road about 7:30 a.m. He said one person was inside the building when the blaze started and jumped out of a second story window. ...
