Youth riding dirt bike killed in crash with four-wheeler Monday

A 13-year-old from Croswell has died after being struck by an all-terrain vehicle while riding a dirt bike early Monday afternoon.

Sanilac County Sheriff's deputies and Croswell police were called to the scene of the fatal crash at about 1 p.m. in the 5500 block of East Peck Road in Lexington Township where the teenager was riding on private property, according to a news release.

A four-wheeler, driven by an 8-year-old boy from Port Huron, then reportedly struck the 13-year-old, according to police. The 13-year-old was pronounced dead at Port Huron McLaren.

The Croswell Fire Department and EMS also responded to the scene of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation by the Sanilac County Sheriff's Department.
