CROSS LANES, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the assistance of the public in identifying the suspect involved in the theft of a UTV on Monday.
According to a press release, on Monday, May 29, 2023, Kanawha County Sheriff’s Deputy B.J. Bellamy, was dispatched to investigate a stolen vehicle complaint at United Rental in the 500 block of New Goff Mountain Road in Cross Lanes.
Deputy Bellamy responded to the scene to learn the parts manager showed up at the business and found the gate had been disturbed. The branch manager was contacted to come to the business to review video surveillance.
A review of the camera footage shows an unknown male dressed in black with a mask getting into a side-by-side owned by the business and driving away.
The stolen side-by-side is valued at $22,841.65.
The stolen UTV is a gray and orange, 2020 Polaris Pro XD 4000D, 4-seater. It originally had a tracking device and United Rental stickers on the sides of it.
Deputies were able to track the tracking device to Walker Addition Road in Institute where they discovered the tracking device had been removed from the UTV along with the United Rental stickers.
Deputies are requesting that if anyone has information on the whereabouts of this UTV or video surveillance capturing the theft/suspect to please contact the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department.
