Court records: Kanawha County man accused of hitting woman with metal pipe

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) —
A Kanawha County man was charged after deputies said he struck a woman with a metal pipe and brandished a gun, court records said.

Fred Wallace Hammon Jr., 42, of Cross Lanes is charged with being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, malicious wounding and possession of stolen vehicle, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
Hammon is accused of hitting a woman in the hand with a metal pipe and brandishing a firearm at her and her child on Saturday, May 20.
The woman also told deputies Hammon was also in possession of a stolen side-by-side. Deputies were able to locate the side-by-side, which they confirmed was stolen.

Hammon is currently being held on a $25,000 cash only bond.
